Air Filter Resources

Choose the right size, check what your HVAC system accepts and compare prices before you order.

Choose a MERV rating

Start with our MERV 8 vs MERV 13 and carbon guide. MERV is a filter-rating system based on an ASHRAE test method. A higher rating means better capture of specified particle sizes, but your equipment still has to accept the filter.

Can my HVAC system use MERV 13? explains what to check before upgrading. It follows EPA's advice to choose MERV 13, or the highest rating your system fan and filter slot can accommodate.

Measure your filter

Our nominal vs actual size chart covers all 24 standard sizes in the calculator, explains the three depths and shows how to measure for an exact custom order.

Plan filter changes

When should you change commercial HVAC filters? covers maintenance planning for facilities. Your equipment instructions, operating conditions and filter condition matter more than a single schedule for every building.

Ordering questions

What sizes do you make?

The calculator offers 24 standard width-and-height combinations in 1-, 2- and 4-inch nominal depths, plus a custom-size option.

Do standard and custom sizes mean the same thing?

No. Plusco standard filters measure half an inch under nominal in each dimension. Exact custom orders are cut to the measurements you specify. Check the size chart before ordering.

Can I order one filter?

Online orders start at a pack of 3. Packs of 6 and 12 are also available.

Can I get MERV 11 or a 5-inch filter?

Our listed options are MERV 8, MERV 13 and carbon in 1-, 2- and 4-inch depths. Do not substitute a different depth without checking your equipment.

Is shipping free?

Shipping is free in Florida. Outside Florida, rates depend on the destination and filter depth. See the calculator's shipping table and confirm the final charge at checkout.

How do I buy for several properties?

Request a bulk quote with the size, rating and quantity for each property. Tell us if you have a purchasing schedule to plan around.

Do you offer business credit terms?

See Net 30 terms and the credit application. Credit is subject to approval.
